Bupati Cirebon Drs. H. Sunjaya Purwadisatra, MM, M.Si menyerahkan Bantuan Biaya Rehabilitasi Sosial Bagi Keluarga Berumah Tidak Layak Huni secara simbolis Kepada Bapak Karto dari Desa Sigong Kecamatan Lemahabang dan Ibu Sri Ningsih dari Desa Kasugengan Lor Kecamatan Depok, Kamis (11/06/2016) usai membuka acara Bimbingan dan Rehabilitasi Sosial bagi Keluarga Berumah Tidak Layak Huni (KBTLH) di Gedung NU, Sumber.
Dalam sambutan Bupati Cirebon Menyampaikan terdapat 27 kelompok Penyandang Masalah Kesejahteraan Sosial (PMKS) dan salah satunya PMKS tersebut adalah keluarga yang memiliki Rumah Tidak Layak Huni (Rutilahu).
Perumahan merupakan kebutuhan pokok sangat penting terutama dalam meningkatkan Stabilitas Sosial, dinamika dan produktifitas kerja sehingga pemecahan masalah perumahan mempunyai pengaruh positif bagi proses Pembangunan Daerah.
Kita sadari bahwa kondisi rumah yang tidak layak huni hampir ada di setiap kecamatan di Kabupaten Cirebon. Berdasarkan data PMKS Tahun 2014 Kabupaten Cirebon terdapat 20.088 Kepala Keluarga/berumah tidak layak huni dan tidak dapat memungkiri akan terus bertambah sejalan dengan kebutuhan warga masyarakat akan perumahan yang layak diiringi dengan terbatasnya kemampuan ekonomi masyarakat dalam mewujudkan rumah yang layak huni serta sarana prasarana lingkungan yang memadai.
Sesuai visi misi Kabupaten Cirebon mencanangkan bebas rumah tidak layak huni yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Sosial akan terus melakukan peningkatan pelayanan baik dari kualitas maupun kuantitasnya, sehingga permasalahan keluarga berumah tidak layak huni di kabupaten Cirebon jumlahnya semakin berkurang.
Tujuan pelaksanaan rehabilitasi sosial rumah tidak layak huni yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Sosial tidak semata-mata merubah atau memperbaiki fisik bangunan rumah saja namun bertujuan agar dalam lingkungan masyarakat tumbuh semangat gotong-royong, kekeluargaan, kebersamaan dan kesetiakawanan sosial yang saat ini nilai-nilai tersebut sudah mulai luntur.
Hadir dalam acara tersebut Kepala Dinas Sosial Drs. H. Dadang Tresnayadi, MM, Camat Sumber, para Kuwu dan undangan lainnya.
