Dalam rangka memeriahkan hari jadi Kabupaten Cirebon ke-531, salah satu rangkaian acaranya adalah penyelenggaraan khitanan massal yang dilaksanakan pada 1 April 2013 bertempat di gedung DPRD Kabupaten Cirebon. Acara diawali dengan pendaftaran dan diberikan nomor giliran khitan yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pendataan jati diri para peserta yang mengikuti sunatan masal, baik dari nama, usia hingga riwayat kesehatannya agar dalam pelaksanaan khitan nanti tidak ada masalah dan tidak menyalahi aturan kesehatan dan prosedur medis kedokteran. Karena setelah dilakukan pendataan ada salah satu peserta yang tidak dapat dikhitan dan langsung dirujuk ke salah satu klinik yang menangani hal tersebut secara spesifik.
Jumlah peserta yang mengikuti acara ini berjumlah 90 peserta dari wilayah Kabupaten Cirebon yang masing-masing peserta didampingi oleh orang tua dan keluarganya. Acara ini merupakan agenda rutin tahunan yang diselenggarakan untuk memeriahkan hari jadi Kabupaten Cirebon.
Setelah melewati beberapa rangkaian pendataan dan pemeriksaan medis para peserta diberikan kartu tanda lulus pendataan yang nantinya diberikan pada dokter yang akan mengkhitan, Sebelum acara khitan dilangsungkan diawali dengan berdoa bersama baik para panitia juga seluruh peserta dan keluarganya. Sebelumnya para peserta yang sudah terdaftar langsung diberikan satu perangkat pakaian koko,peci dan sandal, dan jika telah selesai dikhitan para peserta diberikan kain sarung, sejumlah uang yang dalam bahasa jawa disebut cecepan yang diberikan langsung oleh Bupati yang didampingi wakil Bupati, ketua DPRD dan satu tumpeng lengkap untuk masing-masing peserta yang hadir dan diberikan setelah para peserta keluar dari tempat dilangsungkannya khitanan menuju ke halaman gedung DPRD.
Acara diakhiri dengan do’a bersama dan makan bersama sebagai bentuk rasa syukur atas suksesnya acara berlangsung.
