Senin, 27 Mei 2013, di Ruang Nyi Mas Gandasari, Pemkab Cirebon menerima sebanyak 221 mahasiswa STAI Bunga Bangsa Cirebon yang akan mengikuti Kuliah Pengabdian Mahasiswa (KPM) selama 40 hari di wilayah Kecamatan Sumber dan Kecamatan Talun. KPM sendiri rencananya tersebar di 15 desa dan 4 kelurahan, dengan didampingi oleh 15 dosen pembimbing.
Ketua panitia, Drs H Abdul Khozin, MA, M.Pd mengatakan bahwa dengan diterjunkannya mahasiswa ke masyarakat, bertujuan memberikan pengalaman pada mahasiswa untuk bersosialisasi, mendewasakan mahasiswa, mematangkan akademik mahasiswa melalui KPM, dan mendorong serta mengupayakan sumber daya manusia secara konstitusional pada kelembagaan masyarakat dan pemerintah daerah.
Sementara itu Rektor STAI Bunga Bangsa H. Oman Fahkturohaman, MA dalam sambutannya mengucapkan terimakasih pada Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Cirebon atas dukungan serta partisipasinya terhadap dunia pendidikan sehingga STAI Bunga Bangsa bisa berkembang seperti ini, di awali pada saat berdirinya di tahun 1995 sudah banyak mencetak kader-kader yang berkulitas dan banyak meraih prestasi. Untuk para peserta KPM diharapkan dapat menerapkan ilmu akademik nya kepada masyarakat sesuai dengan yang telah diajarkan.
Dalam sambutan Bupati Cirebon yang dibacakan oleh Dra. Dewi Nurlela, M.Pd menyampaikan penghargaan setinggi-tingginya kepada STAI Bunga Bangsa khususnya pada mahasiswa yang akan melakukan kuliah pengabdian dan telah menjadikan Kabupaten Cirebon sebagai tempat kegiatan tersebut, dalam program ini tentunya selama pelaksanaan akan terjadi proses interaksi langsung dengan mayarakat yang nanti akan di lihat, di amati dan dicermati dalam pola kehidupan masyarakat secara aktual yang mungkin sebagian dari realita kehidupan yang ada tidak pernah di jumpai dilingkungan kampus dan hal ini akan menjadikan proses pendewasan pola fikir mahasiswa. Harapan besar kepada seluruh para mahasiswa agar berjuang dan perjuangkanlah kebenaran.
Acara diakhiri dengan pemakaian baju almamater oleh Dra. Dwi Nurlaela, M.Pd kepada mahasiswa.
