Sekda Kabupaten Cirebon, Drs H. Dudung Mulyana, M.Si membuka Invitasi Olahraga Nasional Antar Pelajar dan Turnamen Catur Antar PNS dalam rangka memperingati Hari Jadi Kabupaten Cirebon ke-531 berlangsung pada Senin (18/03/2013) di GOR Ranggajati Sumber.
Selaku Panitia Penyelenggara, Drs. Iis Iskandar (Kepala Seksi Olahraga Disbudparpora) melaporkan bahwa jumlah peserta invitasi olahraga tradisional terdiri dari siswa/siswi sekolah yang ada di Kabupaten Cirebon sebanyak 400 peserta yang mempertandingkan empat cabang yaitu Egrang, Hadang, Trompah Panjang dan Dagongan digelar di lapangan Ranggajati Sumber. Sedangkan turnamen Catur antar PNS terdiri dari 100 peserta perwakilan dari beberapa OPD digelar di Gedung KONI Sumber dan dilaksanakan selama 4 hari yaitu tanggal 18 sampai dengan 21 Maret 2013. Iis juga mengharapkan dengan adanya lomba dan turnamen ini dapat mendorong kecintaan kita untuk selalu berolahraga sehingga kita semua selalu sehat dan berprestasi disegala bidang.
Sementara Hj. Sri Heviyana Supardi selaku Ketua Koni Kabupaten Cirebon merasa senang dengan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini dan berharap olahraga tradisional ini dilaksanakan tidak hanya dalam iven Peringatan Hari Jadi Kabupaten Cirebon yang ke-531 saja melainkan olahraga tradisional ini bisa dijadikan sebagai ekstrakulikuler di sekolah karena kita berharap olahraga tradisional ini ingin menjadikan seni budaya yang tidak luntur dan untuk mempertahankan merupakan tanggungjawab kita semua.
Lomba Olahraga Tradisional ini tidak hanya dilombakan di Kabupaten Cirebon tetapi ini menjadikan evaluasi untuk persiapan ke tingkat provinsi. Ketua KONI juga mendukung dan senang dengan olahraga tradisional ini bisa diadakan di Kabupaten Cirebon dan semoga olahraga tradisional ini bisa mempererat rasa kekeluargaan dan tali silaturahmi. Beliau juga mengharapkan lomba olahraga tradisional ini tidak hanya empat cabang saja yang dipertandingkan tetapi bisa dikembangkan dan tidak hanya olahraga saja yang dikembangkan tetapi keseniannya juga karena kesenian tidak lepas dari olahraga dan kesenian dan olahraga selalu bersatu.
Sedangkan Drs. H. Dudung Mulyana, M.Si dalam sambutan Bupati Cirebon menyampaikan dengan adanya kegiatan ini berpesan kepada para peserta khususnya para Atlet agar selalu menjunjung tinggi Sprtivitas serta tidak lupa kegiatan ini sebagai ajang tali silaturahmi dan memeriahkan Hari Jadi Kabupaten Cirebon ke-531 Tahun 2013. Selanjutnya atas nama Pemerintah Kabupaten Cirebon, H. Dudung menyampaikan ucapan terima kasih kepada semua insan olahraga yang telah berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ini serta kepada Disbudparpora semoga berjalan dengan lancar dan lancar.
Pembukaan ini dihadiri Kepala OPD terkait, Para Camat di Kabupaten Cirebon, para Atlet dan undangan lainnya.
